Conditions
Torticollis
Torticollis is a neck spasm that tilts or turns the head and limits movement. Hands-on care and posture work speed recovery.
Torticollis presents as neck pain and stiffness, often with the head tilted or rotated to one side. It may appear on waking, after a sudden movement, or from accumulated tension.
It commonly involves spasm of cervical muscles (such as the sternocleidomastoid), sustained postures, cold exposure, stress or joint irritation. TMJ or shoulder-girdle tension can also contribute.
Without care it can prolong pain, trigger headaches, limit driving or screen work, and create compensations in the shoulders and upper back.
At Kinésica we combine manual therapy and osteopathy to release the cervical region, with gentle manipulations when indicated. We add RPG to reorganize posture and TMJ work when relevant.
Assessment covers cervical mobility, scapular control and triggers. Sessions progress with mobility work, local strategies as needed and self-care guidance to reduce recurrence.
Approach at Kinésica
Treatment intensity is adapted to the acute or subacute phase of torticollis.
