RPG – Global Postural Reeducation

RPG is a treatment method created in 1980 by physiotherapist PH Souchard. Through his research on postural organization, he concluded that posture depends on the tension of static muscles (those that oppose the action of gravity).

He defined the way these muscles are organized as muscle chains. An evaluation identifies which chains have shortened most and how they relate to your presenting complaint. Treatment postures gently, progressively, and sustainably stretch them. These are active postures where the therapist guides the stretch and corrects compensations. The goal is to address the underlying postural cause behind the symptom. Sessions are one-to-one and usually scheduled weekly.
