Hyperkyphosis
Hyperkyphosis is an increased thoracic curve often associated with a rounded posture, upper back stiffness and discomfort.
Hyperkyphosis is an increased curve in the thoracic spine. It may look like a rounded posture and, depending on the case, come with upper back pain, stiffness and tension in the neck and shoulders.
It is often related to posture habits, sedentary lifestyle, limited thoracic extension and tight chest muscles. Even when structural factors exist, mobility and control can still improve.
Without training, it can increase load on the neck and shoulders, reduce ribcage expansion for breathing and contribute to recurrent discomfort with sitting and end-of-day fatigue.
At Kinésica we address posture using RPG and muscle-chain work to regain extension and alignment. We integrate osteopathy and manual manipulations when indicated to free thoracic mobility and improve movement comfort.
Assessment includes posture observation, thoracic mobility and scapular control. Sessions combine mobility, posterior-chain strengthening and practical strategies so posture improves in daily life, not only in the clinic.
Approach at Kinésica
Postural retraining is paired with exercises to make changes last over time.
