Ciatalgia
Ciatalgia often feels like pain, burning or tingling down the leg. It doesn’t always mean a serious injury, but it does need a clear assessment.
Ciatalgia refers to symptoms that follow the sciatic nerve pathway: pain, electric sensations, tingling or numbness in the buttock, thigh or leg.
It may come from irritation near the lumbar spine, tension in pelvic tissues, or a mix of stiffness, load and sensitivity. Sustained postures and certain efforts commonly trigger it.
If it progresses, it can limit walking, sleep or sitting, and lead to compensations that overload the low back. Nerve sensitivity may increase and prolong episodes.
At Kinésica we treat both the cause and the nerve’s environment: neurodynamics to improve mobility and tolerance, osteopathy and manual manipulations when indicated, and RPG to reorganize posture and unload the lumbar region.
Assessment includes neurological and movement tests to choose the right stimulus without pushing through. Sessions progress with exercise, flare-up education and a safe return-to-activity strategy.
