Dental occlusion and TMJ

Occlusion problems can tense the jaw, neck and posture. An integrated TMJ approach restores comfort and function.

Dental occlusion describes how teeth meet on closing. When contact is uneven, incomplete or forced, the TMJ and masticatory muscles can overload.

It may link to bruxism, tooth wear, recent dental work, jaw tension or cervical compensations. Pain can be felt in the jaw, temple, ear or neck.

Without care, clicking, tension headaches, limited opening and chewing fatigue can increase. Head and shoulder posture often feed the tension cycle.

At Kinésica we treat the TMJ with specific techniques, osteopathy and gentle manipulations, plus RPG when posture perpetuates overload. We coordinate with your dentist or orthodontist when needed.

Assessment covers opening, mandibular movement quality, muscle tension and links to neck and posture. We set goals for relief, mobility and habits (clenching, sleep, screens).
