Neurodynamics

When the nervous system fails to properly transmit impulses, it can result in pain, altered sensations (such as paresthesia, tingling, numbness, or loss of sensitivity), and even disruptions in the nutrition of tissues it innervates. Treatment depends on the degree of nerve involvement.

In simple terms, all tissues receive tone, sensitivity, and nutritional input through the nervous system. Neurodynamics refers to the application of diagnostic and therapeutic maneuvers designed to assess and restore both the function and mechanics of the nervous system.

For optimal function, nerves must glide smoothly over the surfaces they interact with, such as muscles, ligaments, and joints. However, when these sliding pathways become restricted or compressed, nerve irritation and impaired conduction can occur.

Neurodynamic maneuvers help differentiate nervous tissue from other structures and restore the conditions necessary for proper impulse transmission.
