Kinesiology and physiotherapy

Kinesiology is the health discipline that assesses, treats, and prevents movement and functional disorders through specific techniques, therapeutic exercise, and manual therapy.

At the clinic, we begin with a comprehensive assessment that includes clinical history, postural observation, active and passive movement testing, functional tests, and—when appropriate—review of complementary studies. The goal is to identify the causes of pain or functional limitation, not only to relieve the symptom.

Kinesiology treatment aims to restore mobility, improve strength and coordination, reduce pain, and prevent recurrence. It is tailored to each person according to age, activity level, and goals—whether returning to sport, work, or everyday activities.

Functional assessment

Assessment reveals how the body organizes itself in movement: how loads are distributed, which joints or segments are restricted, and which tissues (muscles, fascia, nerves) are involved. This information defines a clear, realistic treatment plan.

At the first visit, findings, treatment expectations, and daily-life recommendations are explained. When needed, care is coordinated with other healthcare professionals.

Treatment and rehabilitation

The approach may include therapeutic exercise, stretching, joint mobilization, manual therapy techniques, neurodynamics, postural re-education, and other modalities as indicated by the assessment. At Kinésica we integrate different tools for more complete care.

We treat musculoskeletal pain (neck, low back, shoulder, knee), sports injuries, trauma sequelae, postural disorders, nerve tension, and recovery after surgery or immobilization.

Sessions are usually weekly at the start of treatment and may be spaced out as progress is made. Each session typically lasts about one hour.
